Broke something in between the brake booster and vacuum check valve
I have a 1986 Porsche 928s auto. Attached is a picture of what I broke. When trying to take off the house (I was pulling fairly gently) it snapped. Does anyone know what it is / where I can get one?
Also is it safe to drive with it detached?

That is the nipple that takes vacuum to the passive vacuum reservoir that is used for the auto box shift modulator and the HVAC system. If you had an S4 or later you would lose operation of the flappy valve but if the model in question is that shown in your avatar that is not an issue. It may also impact your cruise control and door locks if they use vacuum- not sure of the situation on the earlier models.
Without this system active your a/c system will not work correctly and gear shifts will be harsh assuming you have an automatic. Always helps if you advise what model year you have and whether auto or manual transmission.
Without the shift modulator some damage could be caused long term but otherwise no short term issues.

Same failure happened to mine a couple of years ago- I drilled out the base of the failed nipple and inserted a short length of stainless narrow gauge tube [from a broken model car transmitter telescopic antenna- glued the thing in place and doing fine to date and stronger than the original item.

what you broke is the brake booster check valve,
it would also be wise to replace the blue check valve thats connected to the small hose,
and count the 4 way and 3 way rubber hose junctions,
replace them all as they are all hard if original

You will also, likely, want a new rubber grommet/seal for the junction with the brake booster. Check yours: is is rubbery or 'plastic-y?'
Lubricate the new check valve with rubber-friendly lub before attemping insertion.
