Load test the batt. A batt w/a bad cell can still show 12.5.

I've read over this thread several times, pondering a few thoughts.
The first thought I had was a failing ignition switch, second, would be the ignition amps. Both could produce the symptoms you describe.

Does one of your posse have a cps you could swap-in?
Or oscilloscope to check wave form?
I've had several of them fail before their time on 928 and 944.

The EZ-F can fail to synchronise with the timing ring. See if you can borrow a good one ?

John, I've not heard the term Timing Ring before. I assume it is on the flywheel to trigger the CPS?

Yes, that's correct. It has 98 teeth and a 2 tooth gap for the EZ-F to synch on.

CPS is relatively new. Again, When you stop cranking you get a tiny blip of a spark....

John is it the ring itself or the EZK?

Mike, the ignition amplifiers are under a black plastic cover on the driver's side front apron, just in front of the headlight cross bar.

I assume that you were talking about a problem with the EZK itself syncing with the teeth?

Thanks Seth. Never hear anybody talk about these. Doubt it's the problem since both coils have no spark. I may push him to get a new CPS.........
