Default FS: Forged Aluminum M393 Rims?

I think these are the 16" forged aluminum rims. They look really clean. Not mine but they are for sale in my neck of the woods. I might be able to help if someone out there wants them...

Those wheels make the 928 look even more luxurious. Second on favorite OE wheels here. First are 16" phone dials.

They look a bit more like design 90 cast and painted wheels but hard to tell with the photo lighting...just does not look like anodized flat mat finish given the reflections of overhead lights.

You want to get the part numbers for these to make sure they are actually the forged 928 wheels. A similar cast wheel was offered for the 944, has a slightly different lip shape and finish. The part numbers tell all.

Those are d90 wheels. The offsets and widths along with parts numbers will determine if they are the 928's D90 or not.

They look like cast D90's to me. Roger posted pics of brand new forged anodised rims recently.

The problem is there are not many choices with OEM tire sizes at this time with 16" wheels.

Spoke with the seller. The 4 wheels are all 16x7.5 with an offset of 65. So, I don't think they are a factory set of 928 wheels as I believe the 7.5's are the fronts and the rears are 16x9's. but the look to be in really nice shape.

The car in his Craigslist ad is an 81 Euro 5 speed with 70k miles. Looks to be really clean!

7.5 fronts with ET65 are relatively rare, correct? For the rears, maybe a set of appropriate spacers would make them work.

That's a good question. I thought the 16x9 wheel was the more difficult size to find, as the 16x7.5 were on the 944 as well? Maybe someone can chime in with more knowledge.

Love the owners 81 Euro, though...

I think you may find that the photo is of the painted "cast" design 90 wheels , the Forged "Fuchs " wheels are quite different

A ) The Fuchs forged wheels are anodised , not painted

B ) The Fuchs forged wheels do not have the sharp 90deg change of direction where the rim meets the spokes , the Fuchs are much more subtle in this area

C ) The Fuchs forged ( be it CS or standard S4) have a machined "smiley face" at the base of the spokes

I think these are still for sale. He's dropped the price to $500 or so for the set...

The ET65 is the rare wheel, as you need that offset (or ET) to work properly on the front of the 928 and that's the hard one to find.

This is a good set of wheels for a 4.5 car or for an S/S2, giving 0.5" wider than factory with the correct offset.

OR, find a pair of 9" D90s and you have a nice set in the same size as the GT, and you can sell the 2nd pair of ET65 fronts to someone who has D90s but is running the wrong offset on the front.
