Shelley Berkoski took some great photos, shared on the Camp 928 Facebook page,
Facebook Post
.

Had I a spare moment, I would have offered Shelley the use of my pro cameras and lenses - and the position of Official Photographer for the 2018 event. My goal for next year is to have spare moments.

Nancy took this photo of Moxie retrieving a raffle prize for her owner Patrick:

Kudos to Curt and Nancy from the real "campers" of the Camp928 gathering. More gracious couple you're unlikely to find anywhere. Thank you for allowing us onto & into your private space and getting everything organized to perfection - very much appreciated. This was my 1st major event, hopefully not the last. It was nice to attach faces to all the names, some of which I've "known" for over 20 years, like Jay K.

Here are some pics from my collection. Enjoy the views from Stewart Mountain top, most of you were too lazy to climb ;-) Until next time.

This was my kind of GTG - beautiful setting, plentiful traffic-free scenic back roads to stretch the legs on, nice mixture of structured events and down time for mingling with beautiful cars and faces for which I had previously only known by their RL handle, and most importantly, the most gracious hosts. Thank you Curt and Nancy for putting together a wonderful event. Your hard work leading up to, and during the weekend did not go unnoticed. I, for one, am more than willing to do what I can to help you bring to fruition the 2nd annual Camp 928.

Yup: This was a great event. Curt, you did a phenomenal job of planning and organization a 928 event and the fact that it was your first makes it even more impressive.

Perfect time of the year. Perfect venue. Great roads. Great weather. Low key, not overly-full of 'stuff': just right.

For the folks that were on the fence: Curt's neck of the woods has lots of options. You can camp. You can stay in a motel/hotel. You can find a nice place via airbnb. Great places to eat.

Disappointed to have missed this despite my initial enthusiasm- life intervened in a substantial way and knocked that weekend out of 'discretionary time!
Wow, is that a Jay Kempf sighting?
Just got my owner's club renewal notice...was leaning against, but presumably it helped with this event, and if that is the case it is representative of why there's still some value there.

924S- neat, that was my 'gateway Porsche'.

Indeed, the forum-recluse Jay Kempf was here and we bonded as uber-nerds, discussing everything from fat-tire bicycles to hard-alpha defects in jet engine fan disks. He was enthusiastic about the event and offered to come early next year to help us set up. He also reattached my spoiler, but I'll leave that story to ...

an epic "thank you" post I plan to write. But let me take this opportunity to thank the 928 Owners Club. They provided outstanding support, including a generous amount of cash, some especially good swag for the raffle, valuable encouragement, and that nice banner. They were receptive to my suggestion about that banner - a permanent joint Camp 928/OC banner - 1+1=3 - that we won't have to be shipping back and forth.

I think I promised to become the OC representative for this area - I'll have to ask what that means, exactly. But yes, the OC was and is great. Get thee to their website, http://928OC.org and join up. I bet what they do is limited by volunteer manhours and expertise, so consider pitching in, too.

We had support from the local PCA chapter, too. Our blog guy came up and wrote a nice story: http://hcpblog.pca.org .

That looks like a fantastic venue! I can see that everyone had a great time and I'll need to pay more attention when you repeat this event

Thanks, Tass. I heard about your event on July 8 and hope to attend.

Just as another example of camp life, Paul and I tried to excavate the rock that tore off my front spoiler. However, the force of gravity was unusually strong that day. This afternoon, I punished this primordial bit of anorthosite with one of my favorite tools. It will rise again, I know, but for now it is back underground where it belongs.

If you do make it to Wilbraham maybe you should bring that Makita along I have always taken the lazy way out. I and tell each arrival that the orange cones indicate spoiler eating rocks in the field.

Was running a little late on Fri due to road construction just north of Springfield, Mass. It was raining pretty good but Bob V said once traffic clears to step on it in order to get to the rendezvous point on time T
