I think we left around 7:30 this morning. Stopped for breakfast, fuel, Starbucks, and bathroom breaks and just now made it home. Gonna take a short rest and then see about re-installing my AC. Wife was a trooper but with the heat and traffic jams if I don't get it fixed that will be the last time I get to use the HOV lane!
Thanks to Curt and his wife for putting this together, we had a great time!

Had a great time, making new friends, seeing some old friends. Curt did a great job organizing the weekend, setting up the fun runs, food, drink and just about everything. Thanks to his wife Nancy for sharing their "camp" and for putting up with us hooligans.

I raise my hat to Curt and his wife for organizing this great event.

Had a lot of fun seeing old friends and meeting new ones.

Beautiful and perfect place for an event like this.

Great job Curt.

Unfortunately, I didn't make the trip back home driving the car...
It finished the trip on a flat bed.
Fortunately, I was about 30 minutes from home.
Coolant high temperature problem.
Water pump or blown head gasket. Will see.
I'll start another thread on this.

Thanks again Curt for everything.

Suzanne and I made it home without problems and before the rain, which arrived while we were unloading the 924S.
I would have loved to have made the trip in the 928, but the 924S proved its worth as a backup machine... performing flawlessly.
Crossing the border into the states took a couple of minutes, a few questions and we were on our way. Coming back into Canada was a different story, I figured that after 48 hours, given that we were well within specified limits for importing (4 bottles of wine and less than $100 of parts from Pelican) that we would be waved through, but no, we were sent off to the inspection lane. Out of the car, "please stand behind the barrier", then the interrogation which included:
-Where were you?
-At a GTG for Porsche 928 owners in Chestertown NY.
-Where?
-Uh... Chestertown.
-Didn't you have problems showing up at a Porsche meeting in a Ferrari (!)?
-Uh... that's a Porsche 924S.
-(After checking out the badge on the hood) Oh.
-Didn't they give you a hard time because it is not a 928?
-No they were very kind to us...
They got a less aggressive after that and we were allowed to be on our way.

Thanks to Curt and Nancy for a great event, we camped below their house, best campground ever! I was glad for the opportunity to put faces to names and meet lots of new people.

Tony's Mokka was the star of the show for me... to have an idea what my car looked like when it came off the assembly line was a treat!

There were some interesting cars other than 928s... of course my 924S :

Curt's Sprite:

His friend's beautiful Opel (sorry for the poor picture):

Then there was the fun run that got lost... and saw about 15 928S and a 924S doing U-turns on a back-country road, not the best picture but you can imagine:

I feel for you Bertrand, that's what happened to me last week (not the same problem though) and why I was not there with my 928.

Hope it is minor and that you are mobile again soon.

Bertrand, Sorry to hear about flat bed call. Your car blew me away.
Curt & Nancy were great hosts and out did themselves.
Great meeting all the guys ( and the ladies) and learning even more about these wonderful cars. The 3+ hour drives up and back is where these GT show what makes them special, especially after a Mr Merlin sorting!!!

Sorry you had trouble, Bertrand, but wow - your car has been a trooper on these long trips to gatherings.

I'm afraid Paul's car had an electrical booboo, and had to be given a ride home. Maybe going to summer camp is just too stressful for these cars. Even my car suffered an injury, and it only had to travel six miles.

I'll just give a big THANKS to everyone right now, and get to particulars later. After some rest. Good night.

Since we just made it home now after yet another trailer tire blowout I'll apologize for the tardy thank you to Curt and Nancy. We had a blast meeting everyone and learning that these are not just cars but works of art (mokka) and awesome machinery(most everyones). My car will What a blast!
continue to undergo its second coming and be ready to drive to next years event.

Thanks again Curt and Nancy and thank you everyone else for welcoming us with open arms to the group.

The most impressive and ambitious appearance was by Sonny, Rina (I hope I've spelled this right) and Bullet the dog. He's had his car just since last November, and is following the Right Way according to this dedicated group. A class act for their first gathering. He brought some excellent towel dispensers and enough towels to perform a MM/OPG job AND a couple of CV boots. One of them is already installed in Nancy's studio, dedicated to art of a different sort.

More later....

Thanks Curt and Nancy for the nice Camp 928 GTG, you def went all out in preparations.
It was great to meet new people and see some of the regulars you know who you are .
Being caretakers of these fine machines is an opportunity not many will have.

Keep em flying!
