If it is a '79, it should/might have a removable battery box, with a removable cover under that lid in the trunk.

Is the removable cover there?

Greg, IIRC '79 had the battery box integral with the unibody, only the '78 MY had the removable box with lid attached to the torque tube. At least all my '78 and '79 cars are configured this way.
