Why is a hotel abandoned in a touristic hotspot in Europe?
It is a shame, some poor management and corruption combined with deferred maintenance pushed it over the edge. The economic downtime from Covid added a few more years of no interest in re-opening and further deterioration. Now it's probably a teardown even if someone wanted to rebuild. This was an amazing place in years past, those are individual subterranean suites each with a private pool.
Please bear in mind that Trespass is not a criminal offence in some countries, including the UK
I spent several years living in a squat in the UK, which was not a criminal offence at the time
Urban exploring can be both safe and fun, recently I've really enjoyed exploring Madeira's road tunnels that were under construction, both on foot, and in a car
When one of these tunnels was recently opened by the president, we were there and shock his hand
There is clearly a difference between the Europe and the US, we don't tend to shoot and kill people quite as often
Perhaps this is the significant part of the discussion. What a tragedy it is that this luxury destination and historical part of the 928 story is now unavailable for us to consider as a place for a pilgrimage. Imagine the fun a bunch of enthusiasts could have by bringing their 928's here for a party!

Going to have to agree with you both here.. Yea we have some impressive?/depressing shooting numbers in the US, and while a correct statement it was a blast at the US that is perhaps warranted but completely off topic here...basically being an opening bait line to argue about geo-political affairs in the 928 forum, in a thread about press cars and the press launch. I've "known" both of you guys through this forum for years and you both have made a lot of great contributions, but please take this part of your conversation elsewhere.
Dave, I would loan you a car so we could travel together southwest!
Now that's the spirit of camaraderie that I respect! What a hoot it would be to get together and follow some of the roads the test cars travelled back in 1976? Photo shoots after finding some of the places that were in the period magazines? Sublime!
