Default Last word on bumper plastic type?

When you paint bumpers you are suppose to know what type of plastic so the prep and primer can be done accordingly. What is the type for the later cars?

Well, I think I will just use an adhesion promoter anyway before the epoxy primer.

Thanks

Brendan ... Definitely use an adhesion promoting product. Here's a link to the Sikkens product that is suitable for our PU bumpers .... http://www.sikkens.com.gh/pdf/sikkens/plastoflex.pdf There must be many others of a similar nature.

One of the repair manuals also states to heat the bumper covers in the heated paint booth for a certain period of time to open the pores and improve adhesion of the primer. It is on the Morehouse CD in one of the body repair sections.
