Default Mystery two-pin female connector under AC expansion valve

Hello Gentlemen,

As part of the ongoing fiasco that is my 928, I removed the wiper assembly to replace a failed bearing. While doing so, I saw a mystery connector under the AC expansion valve.

The plug looks similar to Molex, is white, and has two female pins. The wires are black with a white trace and brown. It does not look to have anything plugged into it recently.

Any ideas what this is?

Note the sheathed wires going under the left side of the expansion valve.

Mystery connector.

Thanks!

Hello Ducman82! I don't think so, as that goes through a 3 pin connector up into the hood on the passenger's side.

Thanks!

At some point...

We need to start a database for each model/year. For wire color codes and purpose/positions in the cars. I'm up past my eyeballs on a project right now or I'd start building a template.

A simple look-up by color code would instantly identify the purpose of these connections.

Just a thought...

worf928: I don't think so. 1986.5 still has the intensive washer system at the front, opposite the ignition modules.

Kevin and Sean: I belive we have a winner! Earlier, I looked through the wiring diagrams, but quickly got lost. Now, I have checked again. My car has a three wire harness going up into the passenger's side of the hood, with the washer plumbing. I saw two of the wires go to the passenger's side washer nozzle. I assumed the wires then jumped through the hood over to the driver's side.

However, I have looked closer at the wiring diagrams. Sure enough, the 'heated washer jets' have separate plugs. One goes to a three pin plug, the other goes to a two pin plug. At first, I was thrown off because of the color coding on the print. One wire was 'br'. OK, I know what that is, 'brown', which is ground. The other wire was 'sw'. What in the %^&& is 'sw'?
Then I remembered that I had downloaded Alan's excellent electrical guide. In there, it showed me that pre-87, 'sw' is 'black.'
Works for me.

Now, I have to figure out where the harness is from the driver's side washer nozzle.

dr bob: I so thought of this as I was digging through the wiring diagrams both times. It would be so nice to be able to look up a circuit function by wire color.

Thanks for all your advice and help!
