Default Fuel Lines

In the middle of last year, I ordered fuel lines from Roger (2 upper lines in the picture below). I finally got around to installing the lines several weeks back. I did not think the lines looked correct, so I contacted Roger. He found that one of the lines on my Early 1980 model was different. He sent me the line at the bottom of the picture. The other two do not appear to match the upper original line. Do I have an anomaly? What line do I need to ask for? _

G'day, your old lines look just the same as mine ('79, 4.5 Euro).

Both slightly different lengths, I just provided Roger with my Vin.

Replacements sit just where they should.

Maybe measure the old lines, and provide Roger with such?

Hope this helps

They changed the fuel lines during 1980 production year so you need the VIN to get the correct ones.
I learned the hard way when I ordered the wrong ones from Roger.

If you have a early 80 the you should have 2 straight hoses.
The 2 hoses on top of you picture are for an late 80 like mine.
I ordered the early straight hoses for mine by mistake and had to change them.

I wish it was that easy - most of the time on borderline VIN crossovers I can get it right. Even with the VIN it sometimes does not work out the way it should.

^^^^^Yes^^^^^

Occurs on many model years.

I frequently ask people to send me pictures of what they have, so I can provide the correct fuel lines.

Thank you all. 20/20 hindsight, I should have measured first. I'll PM Roger to have it send me the other straight line.

Roger, if anyone can get it right, it's you. Hopefully this thread helps others in the future. I sure had no idea that the lines varied mid-MY... Measure twice, order once.

Frankly, this is news to me.....it is totally my fault, not Roger's!

I owe him for the freight charges.....as I provide the year information to Roger.

I thought that there was a "hard cutoff" between CIS cars and L-Jet cars.

I will need to figure out where the change actually occurs.

My sincere apologies!

I was looking in RoW PET only and also saw US engine (1) mentioned there so assumed they were the same. I might be wrong. Anyway the RoW cars changed mid year.

No problem. I've had my car on jack stands all winter working on several project. I haven't lost any time or effort.

I must say that quality of these fuel lines is amazing!! Some day when we're all dead and gone, these fuel lines will be hanging on the rotting carcass of a car, and still have miles left to give.

Correct me if I am wrong but an 80 Euro is CIS so I think the hard cutoff is still valid. I had an 80 Euro parts car way back when.

New lines are in. I think we have a match. Hopefully I can get these installed tomorrow. Thanks again to Roger and Greg! _For everyone's benefit, are these lines a match to the '79?
