After having it sitting for years in my closet, I finally got around to installing the illuminated switch upgrade with the 529/530 modules this weekend. Everything came out great. Hopefully Paul and Hans do another run of these some day.

I have one question on the final installation of the switch panel. My car has leather interior. The kit came with two spacers that have adhesive on one side. The photo shows one spacer installed onto the back of the illuminated panel. It also came with what looks like a third space that is cut the same but has a different backing on one side (right side of photo). Is this double sided adhesive? It this to secure the overlay into the metal tray that screws into the console?



My concern is that if I stick the overlay onto the metal tray it can never be removed without damaging it since the tray is held into the console by 4 small Phillips screws. Or do those screws get removed and the tray just wedges snugly in place without being permanently attached.

Just trying to figure out the best way to install it but also to allow for removal if I ever want to pull the console, have it recovered, etc. Thanks.
