Default Valvoline VR1 20W50 $2.00 QT

Story of Oil
So I ran out of Toilet Paper today and needed to go into town.
As usual I attempted to complete as many tasks as I could in 1 trip.
So I took my used oil to dump and checked oil prices while in town.
I went to the same auto parts store I always do and was looking at the price of oil X8.
All while fighting in my head "cost of a barrel of oil is down, why is cheaper oil $4 +\- Qt and my oil $10+\- Qt"
Any how, I figured I would wait for a sale instead of $50 +\- for oil on the 928.

On my way out I saw an AutoZone and figured I'll check it out, don't like them but I'll look.
When I arrive I see Rotella at a good price and make my way back to the VR1, SAE 50/60 isle and see it all marked down to $2.00 QT.
WOW, okay. Only 1 VR1 20W50 on the shelf. Figures...
So I ask if they have more, Nope.
But the other store has 15. That plus the 1 gives me two oil changes for $32. I said get them coming.

So, the story is, Autozone in no longer going to carry it and it's clearances out. So anyone running this oil may want to call and check if your store is closing out.

Same thing happened at Autozone in Ohio this past week. I bought up Synthetic Castrol and stocked up for the others in my fleet. Sorry no Mobil One in my area. One of the other guys grabbed 9 quarts 15w-50 Mobil One and that cleaned the shelf in his area.

I bought 3 cases of it when California outlawed it because the Zinc content was too high.

Now they are taking it out of production. Figures....It was my go to oil as it was easy to get a hold of and cheap.

Lubriguard 15 40 is a really great oil that is not well known. I have been using it for 10 plus years in all my commercial and private vehicles.
Great zinc and anti soot properties. check out comparison chart.
