Default Started pulling the motor

I have started the motor prep for extraction. The flexplate is definitely under pressure. You can see in the attached pic.

It was 20 degrees last night, so had to fire up the cannon heater.

Quick question: How do you rotate the flywheel to get to the pinch bolt? Bump the starter? or Turn the crank bolt? Lots of compression, so guessing it is not easy to turn over from the crank bolt.

I have all the fluids drained and am about to start pulling the radiator.

It is so awesome to have access to the FWSM. I literally don't have to think. Just follow the instructions in order.

I use one of these but rotating at the crank bolt works too.

HD flathead screwdriver and slowly rotate the flexplate by the starter gear at the bell housing.

Default New 2 Ton Engine Hoist "Cherry Picker"

This should do the trick!

The new HF gray equipment is surprisingly good quality. IMHO better quality than the orange. I have both jacks and the new gray is much better dual piston.

First step to remove motor- remove the hood and put it in a safe place. Like under your bed.

The car is very straight and i want to keep it that way. Good idea about putting it under the bed. Bonus it may anoy my wife!

FYI: Alot of people on the HF website that bought the engine hoist recommend buying better quality bolts and nuts for it. They come with 8.8, but I would upgrade to 10.9 (?) on major weight bearing bolts on the hoist.

Following this one with interest.

If you haven't already done so, I would recommend investing in a set of liftbars to get her up on the jacks even safer.

A shark hood is pretty good monster repellent.

Welcome, and nice looking car in spite of the problem. Even though you will have to put something into it, given that and the buying price, it's not so bad. I send you some confidence over the ether!
