Selling my '89 S4/5-speed.
I've debated long and hard over this, but I've come to recognize that I love the pursuit and working on my cars, but when they're done...I really do not use them as they should be. So, for the second time in my life, I'm going to put my 73,000 mile car on the market. I've built a website for it on Wix.com, and the site tells the full story of this car: http://bobweber.wixsite.com/928s4
Addition:
I've been asked to post a price on my car. I was a bit reluctant to put a number because the market is in an upward flux, and though I thought my car was a good one, my only gauge of it's value was looking at Hagerty's values on their site. 'Excellent' cars were at $33.7k and 'Concours' were $53.0k.
As my car sits, I've posted a $42k price on it as only returning the original disc wheels and steering wheel keep it from Concours condition.
HOWEVER, I am open to discussions with interested parties.
Thanks!

Thanks! It wasn't when I got the car back...but nothing that hours of time and a toothbrush/Q-tip couldn't fix! I was a Metro Region member and got involved in their concours series with my RS replica, and I've never been the same after that episode...'if you think it's clean, then hit it again.'
The undercarriage/suspension/drivetrain/wheel wells are even better. Unless you crawl under it, you'll never see it.

Hi Bob - Just reviewed your website. What a stunningly beautiful example! I really like the "warmth" of the Linen color vs. standard Silver. Someone will be very happy when they buy this one. GLWS!
P.S. - I note that you worked with the great David E. Davis, Jr. for a number of years. In his writings, he more than once mentioned his fondness for the 928. Any 928-related stories to share?

DED and I were reunited with the launch of Winding Road in '05, the first digital auto enthusiast magazine written by...and for...adults. It was brilliant, but the owner/investor thought he was more brilliant than David and my combined 70 years of experience, and he couldn't help himself but to step-in and impose his signature on the project. We both left, and David passed a few years ago; a tremendous loss as there was no one in the wings to take his place. I attended his 80th b'day party at Zingerman's in Ann Arbor, and it was a hoot. (See photo...recognize these guys??)
David felt that the 928 was the single best high-speed touring car ever built; he was a huge fan and I made big marks with David when I bought this can in 1995.
BTW, I completely overlooked my membership lapsing...thanks for pointing it out. I'm on it....

I know what I'd like for the car, but I am remiss to be seen as someone without a clue on pricing by posting a number and get flamed. I've looked at Hagerty's values on our cars, and they tell a very different story, suggesting that 928's (transaxle cars) have caught the draft of the air-cooled cars. I just looked at the new Pano, and the prices on garden variety 944's and 968's blew me away. How can the 928 not be leading this movement? Having dissected this car and witnessed the engineering first hand, THIS, my friends, is a Porsche with all the commensurate and shockingly ahead-of-its-time engineering and features.
I just spoke with Darien, and told him that every car that I own and bring to this level is sold at what I thought was a fair price, only to see values absolutely skyrocket a year or two later. I sold my absolutely perfect F355 for $60k 3 years ago...it's now over $100k. Same for the '70 911S, and the '72 RS replica, and the '63 Fuelie Corvette, and the twin turbo Supra... So, if my track record stands intact, all of you owners are set to make a killing in a few years.
