One of the pivots for the rear hatch strut is snapped off. I may have a replacement but I can't seem to get the remnants of the pivot out. The pivot is on the hatch. Has anyone had to do this? If so, can you please let me know how?
Is the pivot just simply threaded into captive nut? I can get it to turn a bit but just can't seem to get it out!!!

My memory is that the little ball mount is welded in.
In a previous similar but non-928 non-Porsche car, I bought a couple standard replacement ***** from the local marine store, I put in a couple NutSerts, which are like a blind (pop) rivet with a threaded sleeve inside, and threaded the new ***** into the NutSerts. It made a nice clean repair.

This may vary across model years, but I was sure that they were removable on my '84. I have one broken at the moment and I had planned to weld a nut onto the remnants. Haven't gotten around to it.
