Well...to each his/her own, I suppose.

Personally, I don't think I'd do that to a perfectly nice GTS. I guess my taste runs a bit more conservative.

But, hey, whatever.....

Well...I agree with RickK. I would add that this is a tastefully riced GTS that is no doubt owned by a Euro boy-racer with means. Hey, nuthin' suprises me anymore. I doubt that the safety conscious German engineers who designed our cars would approve of the driver and passenger watching DVDs whilst motoring. The fools who install these contraptions in the FRONT seating area of their cars are destined for trouble...or The Darwin Awards. Just my $0.02 worth...

To each their own. But at least it looks like a very
nicely done installation.
I would be kicking the lower door speaker enclosure
every time I got in or out.

Do the GTS's all have the front fender flares?

Will those Jap. front fenders allow you to run a wider front tire? Looking at them i would think so...Anyone?

I like the unit that this guy built in his trunk. It serves the purpose of holding the equipment perfectly, and it is easily removable. And it looks exactly like what it is, yet still looks professionally made. Good idea-

The notion of a video screen in the cockpit of the car is not only ridiculous, but also illegal! Police in Orlando don't generally come after people for things like loud exhausts, but they do look around for cars with video screens and pull people over if they see them.

N!

I don't know the answer to your question, but these wider fenders first showed up in Japan for the '89 GT. These cars also had the rear fender extensions (hard to see on these pictures).

I think that might be a requirement to cover the wheels more, to avoid throwing up rocks against following cars. America is very lax with such requirements. Europe much stricter, Japan takes it even further.

Think about how nice it would be, if your paint jobs would not look like swiss cheese after 60k miles! The cars I had in Germany didn't even get half as many many rock chips as my cars here. That's probably one reason why bras don't exist in Germany. You would never pass a vehicle inspection in Germany with your wheels sticking out. Trucks need to have fenders / splash guards that cover a much larger portion of the wheel than I often see here. When the first Miatas were imported into Germany, they were required to have similar fender extensions as this Japanese GTS.

To answer your question about wider front tires. Porsche Exclusive made wider front fenders that would acommodate 8" front rims for the later GTS models. To the best of my knowlege they were made of galvanized steel, not aluminum. I belive it was a $1k option, and they look so close to stock that you can hardly tell you've got them on.

It wouldn't be as bad if the screen was a flip out, leaving it on the dash is asking for a smash a grab theft
