I would guess that Greg's built something on the order of 25 or 30 of the 6473cc variant, anything bigger than that is single digits rare. Not sure how many Carl has built, I don't get to Horicon often enough. Joe Cain had the makings of a 7 liter stroker, Greg Gray has some ambitions projects in queue, and I'm not sure what insanity Turbo Todd in Green Bay has in terms of displacement (not that it matters given the boost levels he runs. )

All my guesses may be underestimates and I'm sure I'm forgetting some big motors, certainly not everyone with a stroker documents it on RL.

Simard built 2, I've built 2. Paid for one (took 5 years) and it failed. Built it myself again in 5 months, to the same specs and it made more power and has lasted longer.....

The car has a cockpit adjustable Tilton lever system. Haven't even looked at it yet.

On that note, where is the stock bias valve in this car? No idea if it still retains it or not, but I will look at this more closely when I flush the lines. It's got more brake lines than normal because of the Tilton.

5 liter, stock bore / stroke using the Porsche crank & bearings. Rods / pistons changed to lower compression and work with the Alusil coating.

Erik, are any of Todd's big sleeved motors running in cars? I got to see the **** in Joe's 7 liter but that hasn't yet run.

Friggin awesome. Someone should do a registry or something. Sounds like there are well under a hundred of these out there, even fewer running.

Not to mention you'd have to pony up a whole $17.95 for Membership to unlock access to the OT forum.

Honestly, knowing my personality type, I think I need to save the $17.95 and remain on topic......

If memory serves 3-4 were started and only two were ever fired up.

Todd scrapped the idea for a boosted car when it became clear the extra displacement was not necessary for his power goals, and initial fears of weak cylinder walls was proven to be a non-issue as long as the tune was kept in check.

The only non-aspirated 5.5 liter using his pressed in cylinders had other issues un-related to that modification and was only run for a short time and was set aside.

I've been talking to Todd about digging up those pieces and building a de-stroked over square 4 liter. Too many other projects already in the works so that idea has only seen the "bar napkin".
