Yellow zinc-plated hose clamps - Where to buy?
I happened across this picture on 928 Classics
I really like the hose clamps on the intake. I'm not sure if all our hose clamps looked like this when new and the coating has just worn off or if these were custom plated for the owner. They appear to be yellow-zinc plated. A quick search on Amazon and McMaster yielded nothing like them.
Does anyone know of a source for these? I emailed 928 Classics yesterday to see where they came from but have not heard back yet.
Thanks.

You can have them replated.
Find a place that does this and send them the parts.
There's a shop near my place (Ottawa) that does this kind of work.
I have send them them many parts in the past and htey came back very nice!
It's quite cheap also.

Metric yellow zinc fasteners can be found, but yellow zinc hose clamps are a different story. I have yet to find a reliable source. Eagle Day used to carry some, but I see "out of stock" more often than not. Sometimes you can get them form Porsche, but I've found that many show up in clear zinc vice yellow.
I do what Bertrand does. Fortunately, I have a local guy that does it. He does very nice work, but it's a small operation. His voltage regulator system is a series of light bulbs on a pegboard - looks like one of those mail-order science projects. He has it figured out, though.
Freshly plated parts are like jewelry. They make any engine bay look special.

Wow, that is some beautiful plating. I should have done that when I had my engine apart. Thanks for the input. There seems to be a company in Orlando that does this type of work.

For the smaller clamps www.belmetric.com at least used to have them, I have rechecked since my last order.
Yellow plating I found was Zinc Dichromate.
Lesson on plating;
1) get the parts really clean.
2) send a BUNCH and pick the best or pick to match color which can vary some.

Those clamps for the spider are impossible to find new, with the phillips head screw on the end like originals. Best route is to plate originals like others have said.
Open them up before you send out for plating, and lube them a bit with a dry lube before installing.

Twenty clamps for less than a buck each, free shipping, two weeks from placing oder to in my mailbox. Not a bad deal.
