Check w/Dave Roberts @ 928 Specialists...He has a way to do it with a single rising rate fuel reg.

It is pretty straightforward. You would use a RRAFPR is lieu of the pass side FPR, and a damper (look similar to a FPR) in lieu of the driver side FPR.

There is a vacuum hose that goes to the FPR replaced by the damper. Cap it.

That is it.

Jim what i was wanting to do is get rid of both regulators and clean up the mess of lines and use 1 adjustable regulator.Since on the 83 US 1 regulator feeds into the other. There is also a dampner on the front of the engine (stock). This might sound stupid but what does the dampner do?

Question fuel dampner

Hey Lou A damper is critical to the proper function of any EFI setup. Rapid cycling of the fuel injectors and fuel system components in a running engine combine with the non-compressibility of the fuel this can create high frequency pressure waves in the rail. These pressure waves can cause substantial variation in the fuel delivered by the injectors; causing numerous running problems that are difficult to trace, in addition to increasing stress on the fuel pressure regulator. On my 86 like tareks we have one regulator and 2 dampners for our high fuel delivery engines.. I would stay with 2 dampners for each fuel rail.. This is one area I have looked into changing and updating in my car because of some tuning issues will keep u posted..Dave..

Dave,
I understand what your saying but with the 83 there is 1 dampner and 2 regulators(1 dampner splits to each fuel rail, each fuel rail has one regulator)different set up than your 86.5.Im trying to find out if i can lose the 2 regulators and use 1 adjustable high performance regulator.I heard you need some kind of a performance gain (dyno 160) keep trying on the fuel system.;-) playing

So would a dampeners want to go FIRST, at the beginning of the fuel rails, and then have one regulator at the end of the rails, letting what it needs by (and into the return system) to produce the pressure required?

Tim Murphy had a fueling issue, as well as the red SC guy, and it revolves around (probably) the fact that the rails are IN LINE instead of TANDEM, and the last injector on the line, at that fueling rate, doesn't get as much pressure and flow as the rest. I want to plumb my rails TANDEM, and I need to map this out somehow.

Eh..just plumb up a parallel fuel system...one pump for the left...one for the right.
