I was thinking how can I accurately determine where to build the mounting hard points, insert HD Zip ties!

Got it coming along.

More getting it done...still have more hard points to engineer.

Thank God for HD Zio ties!

Can't afford to 'guess' where to weld hard mount jigs go!

Seeking inspiration, lines in nature always is beautiful...timeless! Thanks ****** for inspiring me!

Default Dolly Plans

I would gladly pay for a set of plans for this once you have dialed it all in.
I bet there may be others who would as well?
Thanks

Maybe I have this wrong, but taking the drive train out doesn't require anything special and putting it back in does require some kind of jacks with fine movement control, not the up and down of a lift.

OTOH it does look nice.

Not sure what you mean by 'anything special'. Please don't assume I went down to my local Porsche dealer and bought that yellow jig...certainly that's not too special, right? Trust me, I've been monitoring this site since March for anyone here, anyone that is or has done what I just did, and, I'm the only one, in fact I'm something special for doing this task...lol! Hope ya'll learn and get excited vicariously thru my actions. Cheers!

It's neat what you did but the reason noone did this is becuase there really isn't a need for a jig like this to work on the 928. It's an assemblyine tool. However, it will make your work a lot easier when time comes to reinstall the drivetrain. Now if you could make it modular to fit on a pellet, maybe there could be some money made renting it out.

I wanted the entire thing out, en mass, unbuild it, and the only way to unbuild it was this way, the opposite way it was assembled. This way I have full access to everything, easily, quickly and immediately. Plus, I didn't know jack about this car, and I wanted to learn, learning curve has and is fast and steep but effective! How many can and do put eyes on their systems like this?

I'll sell the Dolly when I'm done.

Really nice work, Don, and a cool concept to boot. Some things are made worth doing by the doing, and some folks just don't get that, but I have a feeling you aren't much bothered by the latter.

Nice looking dolly. I was wondering as I read through the thread what the plan was for the supports. Got it! Looks great. Couldn't tell if those were locking wheels.

The entire system probably should have one end axles with wheels that don't turn, as is right now, this is a HEAVY assembly to even roll around! Hell, the Car Body itself is a heavy item too, I made a Dolly for it too (will post pics later in a day or two of the Body Dolly) Hard to really fathom how heavy these components are. I need help pushing these carted items around, but when me foot heals up I should be able to push the stuff by myself. Plan is pull motor apart, the rusty pully's I'll media blast, and paint, Cam covers and Intake I'll also PMB and get them Powder Coated in a likely dark gray color, which will be the same as my wheels, which also are prepped and ready to be blasted in my big cabinet.
