Default 928 S2 mirror motor solenoid

Hi All,

My previously rather neglected '85 S2 is slowly coming together.

I have been challenged by the mirror motors, and have finally decided they work fine, except for the solenoid; with the spring in place, there isnt enough ummph in it to pop out the shaft.

with a slightly stronger spring (courtesy of a ball point pen), the solendoid hasnt got enough uumph to pull the shaft in!

new mirror motors are horrendously expensive, and I was wondering if anyone had changed just the solenoid, and if so where did they get one from?

Many thanks for any advice or pointers!

David.

Hi,

I had the same problem with my drivers door mirror, tried cleaning and greasing the solenoid with no success. I bought a second hand complete unit which wasn't too expensive.

Cheers,
Gary

I have a brand new replacement mirror motor (2 actually) that I can sell you.

Send a PM if interested.
