Difference between GTS front wheels
Hi
There seems to be a selection on the PET of GTS front wheels with different widths and offsets
One is 7.5" and one is 8", the 8" is 52 ET and described as winter, can anyone explain the reason for these strange off sets for the 8" and do GTS's generally come with the 7.5?
Thanks
Marti

Winter 8" is for rear, not front. Winter front is same 7.5" ET65 as summer front but different part number to make it more robust against salt.

wouldnt that be the ideal set then? winter rears put on the front and the the 9" rears summer rims?
8-9s would allow a perfect fit 245x17 up front and a 275 in the rear

The far better option for the front 8" wheels is the 'winter rear' wheel from a 993. Instead of 9", they are 8", and have a offset that is compatible with the 928 (more offset than the 7.5" et 65. IF I recall correctly, it is either 69 or 70 offset. RARE wheels, but over ~10 years I found about 5-6 sets of them. Kept one set for the GTS I sold 18 months ago, and sold the other sets to fellow 928 OC members.

the real reason is that "Winter" wheels come in a different corrosion protection and paint to protect the aluminum from corroding. Also in general a smaller tire is preferred in the snow and therefore Porsche offered these wheels for the 928.
