Replaced the headlight bulbs. Found that there were 100 watt highs. There were signs of arcing on one of the plugs. Went back to a more conventional 55w/60w and Deoxit the plugs. These GE bulbs have a short life, but I do not drive the 928 at night much.
My passenger door woofer/mid-range was cutting out. The Morel's I bought from Crutchfield showed they fit, with two inch depth. They were too deep. The ones that were in there were about 0.8 cm more shallow. I found that the ground connection was loose, so I crimped the connector a bit. We will see if this fixes it.
Tejas Treffen later today. There are more than 80 cars entered.

Replaced all the fuses this morning. Undid a snap in the carpet on the upper right passenger side and removed two 10mm nuts and then the cover flips up on hinges. I used Deoxit and Bussmann fuses. I found I had four fuses that were not the correct amps. I used hemostats to pull the fuses and to reinsert the ones on the far right of the panel.
I left the interior light fuse out as I have some LED interior lights on the way from Amazon. Some of the 30 amp fuses showed a little corrosion.

I bought the LED's lamps (invoice below). Note I needed two of the three LED bulbs. The six LED's went in the doors and at the back of the luggage compartment. The three LED's went in the front center and center/center. One bulb was the glove box. I have learned to pull the fuse and put electrical tape over the positive leads, in case they move around. I went with the Warm Whites. I am also getting much better instrument lighting after the fuse replacement.

Next up is the rear wiper. The previous owner removed it. I was wondering if the all the wiper arms are the same from 78-95? I need to check the motor to see if it is operative.

Thanks, learn somthing new here every day. My rear wiper shaft was not turning. I opened the tool kit and with the hatch open the motor was turning. However, when the hatch closed the pin in the hatch was not inserting into the bottom portion. Simply rotated the top half to line up and it is working fine. It looks like there are a lot of parts to purchase.

Seeing your electric panel, all those metal can relays with #53 on them are prone to failure at this age. They are about $5.00 each at some of our suppliers, upgraded to plastic case, strongly recommend you just replace them all before the fuel pump relay or something craps out at the wrong time.

I find that it helps a lot to spray a bit of WD-40 before pulling old relays. They just get incredibly stuck in place, and that little bit of spray lubricant helps a whole lot with pulling them out, otherwise it is literally like pulling out teeth.

I'd caution against WD40. It likely does makes them much easier to pull out as a lubricant. But it also stays in the socket and can get more sticky & gummy over time - and it is not a good conductor. So whatever remains will tend to compromise connections. I have never used anything else on removal - but a quick spray from behind with a contact promoter (e.g. deoxit) will probably also help for a short while with removal lubrication without such downside.

I am working my way around the car cleaning the grounds and had a question. How do I disassemble the grounds that are below the air intake tubes in the engine compartment in the photo below?

I changed out eight of the relays and put Deoxit on the terminals. I also painted a preowned rear wiper. I used satin black and then put a clear coat satin on top of it. I learned this from painting my Targa bar on my former 1989 Targa.
