Default smog pump removal question

My search deal on this computer is kind of screwy looking and not pulling anything up.

1984 928s US car

I am thinking of removing the smog pump. I got to looking at it and see its the same belt as the mechanical fan. It looks as the belt is tensioned by using the smog pump. My question is, do I need to go to electrical fans, or is there a short belt that can be used and if so how do you tension it?

If so what size belt?

Thanks, James

Why do you want to remove the air pump? Is it making noise?

Archives says a 20 or 21" belt is the replacment as a short belt- posts 10 and 11:
