From what I have read the Sharktuner requires you to use the existing factory fuel and ignition computers. Wouldnt have worked on this car because the fuel ECU was faulty. Thats why we decided to use fresh 2016 digital electronics

John,

I was under the impression that the MAP option only integrates with ST2- did I misunderstand that?

Hi Fred
You are correct. For 84-86 cars n/a we could offer a variant of the Alpha-N system.

Interesting alternative if the LH fails, is the box capable of sequential injection as well with appropriate re-wiring?

if you re going to rewire, there are complete aftermarket units already. this is more of a direct plug in type enterprise i think.

I never understood why if you're going to use an aftermarket ECU you don't go with COP, or CNP and ditch all the ignition leads in favor of a more powerful system.

With a fully programmable system like this you can run the injection and ignition systems which ever way you want. What we did here is make the aftermarket ECU quickly and easily adapt to all the Porsche sensors and wiring so that there are zero changes needed under the hood, just a few wires in the footwell where the factory ECU setup is mounted. Since there is also a base file that runs the engine perfectly you simply join the wires up, and turn the key.....presto it runs!

We estimate the cost of the complete system to be in the $1200 range.

Hi
just had a look at their website which is heavily into Nissan GTR tuning and also a bit of Merc tuning. Seems quiet plausible they developed an ‘ad hoc’ solution for a customer who had issues with their 928. I guess they moved on to their next job in the workshop.

The e420 is obsolete and has not been available for a while , as is the 1280 (which I had used ) Adaptronic was purchased by Haltech over a year ago , so Haltech could take the R and D team and ideas that Adaptronic had developed .
The Modular system that Adaptronic had recently released I would expect not to be further developed , due to this , which is a shame because , its flexibility is unavailble in anything in the market for the price , in I believe is part of the problem , they did not charge enough for their services.
On the plus side Haltech is about release the Nexis in Andy who is the brains behind Adaptronic, which is released in March , will hopefully take over from where the Modular and belatedly the 1280 development stopped .

Lol, my post about my VEMS install onto twin-dizzy was deleted even though I was not offering it for sale or anything, just told what is possible. What a useless attitude. I have not been in RL forums frequently and seems like I will be even less frequent when technical stuff is considered as sales. More like Rennlost forums.
