Default Oil pump nut Torque

Does anyone know what the torque on the oil pump nut is? The one that secures the oil pump gear to the shaft. The Model year car is 1981 USA. Engine is a M28/16 4.5 liter. All I can find is the torque for the 3 bolts that hold the pump in the block.

What are the details of your car? Year, USA/ROW etc. That info will help you to get an accurate answer.

Standard torque in ft-lbs for an M10 fastener:

40 - 45 N-m; 29 - 33 ft-lbs.

For the oil pump sprocket I will go to the top of the range or a bit higher; It's steel-on-steel, not much chance of stripping at 47 +/- 2 (N-m). But, you do NOT want it coming loose.

Thanks worf928, I saw the general torques in the manual I just wanted to know if a specific torque was listed. I will use the general torque since there is nothing listed. I appreciate the info guys! Time to motor on

I've too have looked for and never found specific torque for the main oil pump nut or the smaller oil pump bolts. So, the general torque specs are applicable, as Rob and Dave already noted.

30 ft lbs is what I have used, and I think I got this value from one of the tb/wp diy articles.

Thanks guys, I did end up just using the general torque value. I went up to the 45 Nm setting. The manual had the general torque values there, I just wanted to make sure there wasn't a specific one that I wasn't seeing. Sometimes it is hard to find all the info in those manual. LOL Got to love um!
