Default Head Shaving Question

Hi All,

Just wondering about the the S3 heads. I know they were a low compression engine and wonder if it's possible to up the compression by shaving the heads and will this have any detrimental effect elsewhere, ie piston / valve overlap etc and would it increase HP by any measure? Also would this compromise the use of Kens S3000 chips?

there is a limit to cutting the heads and if they are cut to that limit then the thicker HGs 1.4mm should be used.
Issues that will arise are the water bridge bolts not fitting,
the timing belt will also get bigger so the tensioner will have to travel farther to tension it
Euro heads have bigger valves compared to the USA cars

I didn't think there was a 32V 86 engine. If so then we (Oz delivered cars) would have the Euro engine. I know we did for the 16V cars.

and the US 87 heads (same looking head) has bigger valves too with smalller combustion chamber. you want more compression, just put a S4 head on the 86US and end up around 12:1
