Oil analysis arrived. They note high Silicone & Iron. I also made a note of the Magnesium. Im no expert and don't know if this is good news, bad news, or expected news. Keep in mind, I gave the lab no information about the engine other than the stats on the form (mileage, ID #, oil use, etc.). Ill try to answer any questions as best I can. Feel free to interpret, comment and speculate. Thanks

And here is an account of the head work performed. I forgot to mention, when pressure tested, the shop found a crack in the front of the right side head. They made the repair and tested it to confirm. He asked if I wanted it repaired reliably and/or pretty? I chose reliable.

Hoping that one/some of the experts chime in with an interpretation of the lab results. Good or bad, please don't be shy. I'm not going to sell a bad motor to another, if in fact that is the diagnosis. And if that's the case, I can certainly part it out. Thanks in advance.

No deep expert here but I thought the value of oil analysis was more as an ongoing check vs a single snapshot in time. I thought the idea was to look for trends over time to really draw conclusions about what's going on.
Have you looked at bobistheoilguy.com? There is a lot of good information there about this subject.

A G28.05 needs the shorter 80+ torque tube, and the 80+ rear crossmember (928 331 131 18).

Quarterly bump, the transmission is sold and the engine is still available and in grave danger of becoming a coffee table. Lower price, spring cleaning sale for $2k. Engine is on a dolly, ready to be hoisted into your truck and rolled into your garage.
