Easy, fellas...I'm going have to warn my wife just in case I die and some keys just 'happen' to 'disappear' at the funeral....

Great stuff, enjoy the walk through Alex's toyland. Been trying for days to watch it at home, but for some reason our tablet doesn't acknowledge the format...anyhow...finally had a chance to observe at work.

Great job Curt!

Brian.

Great. I think Alex has his disease under control. At least there were no alarming shots of cars sitting outside with grass and sapling growing up and through the car. During those long winters in Rochester, I hope you are documenting all those details you know about these early cars.

Curt, thanks. So, can you give details about the drone and what is required to get the shots you have here.

It seems certain mobile devices need the forum embed code for youtube videos. I had them in my previous video posts, but I've only just now added them to this thread, in Post #1.

I'm glad everyone is enjoying the videos of the events, and especially the participants and their comments. Actually being there is much better, so get your cars fixed up, free up your schedules, and, you know, drive them!

Phantom 4, the latest from DJI. High tech. Easy to fly. 4K video. With two extra batteries, about $1500. The other footage is also from DJI: an Osmo, a gimble-stabilized camera, with an added directional mic. Good sound is hard; I've got to work on that, plus assemble some sort of portable formal interview setup.

The most difficult thing is that these events are too much fun to be "working".

Curt,

Great videos. For the handheld video, do you use any sort of steady cam device?

Drones are great for car gatherings, and would love to have one, but I don't need to add another hobby right now.

Yes: http://www.dji.com/products/osmo . It's essentially the same 3-axis stabilized camera as on the Phantom 4 drone, mounted on a stick. I got the big accessory bundle with it, the z-axis arm, and a directional mic. They just introduced a new model with a zoom lens.

For purposes of the ambitious documentary project, it would be great if others got some good footage. The Osmo is a lot simpler and cheaper than what I see others using, like the official guy at the Vermont Parade. As I mentioned earlier, sound quality remains a challenge, and it's very important.

Hi all, from downunder. I came across the VanD collection video and thought I would add a pic of my recently aquired. The car done 165000 k's and was parked for approx 10 years so obviously quite a bit was done to get it back on the road. I have yet to enjoy it as I have only done approx 500k,s, but that will increase when summer arrives here in Melbourne. It is obviously similar to the one that Alex has.

Perhaps the two of you could meet in Hawaii, with your cars. Take some video. I'm imagining something like synchronized shark swimming.

The latest Osmo news is that they've just introduced a model on which you mount your phone to the gimbal. $300. I think the latest phones have 4K video (Apple's announcement of the iPhone 7 is coming up in 30 minutes).

I've got a project car for sale in Ms , sat in a storage facility for 20 years , pivot ball broke and the previous owner tore it down and never put it back together
