Stan's Alignment Shop - "We do Hatch to Hood and we do it good!"
Thanks Stan for volunteering. You know you would have been pulled into something anyways. We always do that to you.

If we continue to generate good ideas at the current rate there will be more than 2 or 3 popular topics (and willing presenters). We might have to schedule sessions simultaneously and folks will choose the ones they want to attend. Wouldn't be a bad thing if there were more sessions. If there were four to six topics we could repeat them (keeping the groups small so everyone can see and hear). Pick the two or three topics you most want to attend. It's starting to feel like organizing a conference
I like the idea of topics that apply to all years. But I'm sure S4+ owners would really want a session on troubleshooting their cooling fans (trust me...you do!). S3 owners would really benefit from a session on how to properly clean their intake parts after powder coating (blast media in those hidden nooks and crannies have killed a few engines).

I will selfishly suggest something on tuning up the automatic gearbox, including the quadrant and the kick down switch. The speaker could use disassembled parts or perhaps a gearbox - not many people can crowd under a lift anyway. Afterwards, we can present some sort of medal to Seth Pyle to honor his bravery, or the memory of his gearbox, depending.
As a sidenote, I will be working on the documentary. I'll try to have a session with those who want to contribute and have ideas and/or skills. I will be posting a note about this soon.
Thanks, Greg!

Ideally, I'd like to see the oil pan gasket done, including dropping the center support; or maybe rear CV boots. But, since we're lift-less...
As far as the documentary: I have a GoPro I'm planning to bring along. I'd be happy to volunteer it for the cause.

I will also cover the rear hatch latch,
and the oil pan gasket replacement without removing the cross member.
NOTE a lift would be a good thing here

That would be brilliant!!!!! Now we just need someone to operate it, unless you can multi-task!!! Lol

How about window rubber? That seems like something that could be done without a lift.
Greg: Seems like you need to find out which ideas have both opportunity and a presenter, then figure out the time and run a poll to see which you want to do.

Or even just how to properly install the rear quarter window trim strips
Good one Shawn. I was going to kick off this thread with this request, but thought it would be hard to give the talk without actually replacing seals in the rear quarters or the scrapers in the doors (hand waving won't do...we have to see a demo). I need to replace the scrapers in the doors and redo a poor instalation of the black plastic trim strips at the quarters (the seals were replaced, but whoever did the job didn't know the tricks to get the trim to lay flush without slight kinks). If my car presents an opportunity to demonstrate how it was done wrong and then how to do it right...I volunteer my car for this (I have a spare set of nicer used trim strips). The trim strips might be a nice less involved demo that fits our time constraints.
