He was known for hitting 245 MPH on the Mulsanne Straight in 1971 in a Porsche 917 , raced also 956 and 962s for years.....quite an accomplished driver.

These cars were delivered without graphic on the left front fender. Otherwise, they are identical to a production CS from the outside.

The two others surviving and known examples (former HJ Stuck and Jöchen Mass cars) have now the famous graphic, in black. It should not be there.

Speaking of pre production cars, I was lucky enough to do a bit of work on Derek bells twin brother car in 2014 - the H54 given to Jochen Mass. This one is probably the best preserved of all the 5(was it really 4 or 5?) prototype CS cars. It had just passed 100000km on the odo. As 928cs mentioned, they were delivered without the CS sticker, the sticker on the H54 is put on after delivery.

H54 is now in Switzerland, and it certainly a nice example.
It has a unique feature with the regular electric seats.

But the Bell's car is also really nice low mile car.

I'm still not sure that a car was produced for Jacky Ickx, and if it was, it it not identical as the four others.
Also, I suspect that at least a 6th was produced...

And I have identified 4 real 1987 prototypes so far.

You seem to have control of these cars, I guess you probably know about the former norwegian owner of the H54. If so, you know he was a real 928 pedant. He even replaced the transparent "sticker" between the hatch and the spoiler(with new Porsche part no sticker of course), only because it had some minor scratches

Yes, I have been in touch with him, but have never meet him!

I have helped him to sell the car to the current owner.
Except the CS sticker, it seems to be really original!

If you have others pictures, I would like to see them.

By the way, I think the Bell's car is H51, Wollek's one is H52, but I still need an official confirmation of this. The Stück's car is H53.

Ickx at least got an 83 back then, but I don't think Stuck or Wollek got one of those four, so that probably doesn't mean Icks therefore got an 87.

The history of these Bell/Stuck/Mass/Ickx cars would be great fodder for a Pano article, if they haven't already been written about, collectively.

The 1983 S were made for Mass, Bell (RHD), Ickx and Bellof. These are easy to identify with the small "Rothmans" livery. Except this livery, they don't seem to have anything special, but I have yet to find a surviving example.

The 1987 Pre-production CS are interesting because they are a little different from a production CS (even if all production cars are different and customized).

They differ from a regular CS with the presence of:
- Intensive windshield cleaning system.
- Audio tape box
- Shelf under the dashboard (driver side)
- Full leather
- Remote trunk opening system
- Radio (even if just the very first production car was ordered with the light wiring dashboard harness, without any connection for a radio)
- Central door locking

Also, they don't have a M637 option code, nor the option codes for the CS rims, no SP stamping after the engine number and the gearbox is numbered as a regular G28/12, and not a G28/55.

I dont know why people want the value of 928`s to go up.. I dont. The 911 price explosion ruined my enjoyment and plans for my 911. I`m happy for the common 928 to stay right where it is so I can enjoy driving it. Buying drivers cars for investment is the wrong reason for buying a drivers car in my opinion.
Anyway, the car in question, is probably my ultimate 928, what a car. I do love white Porsches.

So far, I only have a record of it from Porsche, and a quote from Derek Bell that confirm that it was produced.
There is no evidence that it was ever delivered to France (yes, this was a French specified car).
