New bedroom this past November for the toys. The '82 928 got the engine pulled in early Dec with the help of Majestic Moose to remedy a cam box leak. Additional: new head gaskets, oil pan gasket, TB, RMS, etc. I have the intake to reinstall now. The truck is a '49 Chevrolet 3100 that my wife's grandfather towed out of a barn in 1970 and he got it running and painted in '71. I remember this thing in the early 80's when we were dating. He died 35 years ago and his son, wife's uncle, has had it and never really did anything to it. Poor health and he passed it along to me. Oh, it only has 28K miles!

Burning Brakes
A few of my favorites. Two classics and the daily (modern classic IMO).

My wife was with me at a Barrett Jackson auction in Scottsdale a few years ago and she spotted this 1950 Chevrolet 3800 pickup headed up the ramp onto the stage and informed me that she always wanted one. I asked her what color and she said Red or Green. It only took a glance to recognize that this was a good one and since we had had a few bloody Mary's and the rest was history. Turns out that the story was similar to yours and that the grandfather had bought the truck new in Bucklin Kansas and when he retired the sons had a rotisserie restoration performed as a gift. He put a little over 6,000 miles on it before he passed and to avoid an argument the sons auctioned it off.
Drives like a truck!
Purrs like a kitten...

10/10 plus 2 extra points for speed of response!
It’s the scene that inspired me to hunt down the same colour scheme, which I’ve loved since childhood.
The same with Weird Science and the black 928. Although mine is metallic black (708), however I doubt this would bother Lisa/Kelly LeBrock! 🖤

For Bond enthusiasts: The popular "Bond in Motion" exhibit that was at my museum is now at the Spy Museum in Washington DC. That is, some of it, though with other items added. The rest of it went to a museum in Chicago - don't know which. Mostly Aston Martins, of course. My museum is now full of Ferrari's - the Saratoga Automobile Museum. Camp 928 attendees should definitely try to stop in.

@928 GT R - - neato front spoiler on the red car in your photo. Is that just a spoiler under a standard late front bumper? Or perhaps the whole nose is different?
It sorta looks like it also has side skirt treatments too...
pretty cool!
@928cs it's an 89 with the 8valve engine - torque everywhere! I adore driving that car.

I think Dave has a own thread for the red GTR!
I like the truck and the classic Italian cars from the last century but I‘m 1,97 m so I must cut a hole in the roof if I want to drive one!

If you can tolerate non 928 related stuff, I have this engine sitting in the garage right now. BMW big six 3.6L full racing trim. Expect around 375 HP, redline 8500 rpm. Big valves 50/39 mm.

@Strosek Ultra : It's still in the car but I've been struggling with refreshing an M52TU with 200k miles. There's oil everywhere, as you might imagine, and it's fighting me tooth and nail. I'd love to have some ITBs on that thing; those inline 6es from BMW are just fantastic and make great noises.
Cheers
