Default Canadian vs US Spec 928. How can you tell the difference?

Other than the instrument cluster are there any other visual clues that differentiate a Canadian 928 vs a US one? Plus is there anything mechanically different about the two?

They are the same. Rarely are cars different between our countries other than the instrument cluster and day time running lights.

Look for the letters E and H in the VIN and they all smell like whale blubber.

Well that's a lot better than smelling like maple syrup and free health care.

No Vin tags on all panels...just the one on the fender and on the windshield. (at least on my 89GT).

The AC control panel will be in Celsius too...
Also, the options tag in the back will have C36 for Canadian delivery

Usually have the heated seats and DON'T have rear air. And in Michigan, I've used the heated seats often, but never the rear air.

My 87 has tags on all panels. Interesting. Is the 89 original paint?

Canadian cars are configured with metric guages; speedo (kms) and hvac (celcius).

They are also generally outfiited with heated seats and no rear a/c.

They also have metric fasteners and round black tyres.

I know one fender has been replaced and painted, but not sure on the rest...looks pretty original.

Nope. Second owner (from Toronto) brought it down to California and was able to register it there without any conversion. Just took the title to the DOL here and got a new one.

My GTS has the VIN on the passenger front fender and is an ROW VIN.........ZZZ although the VIN on the drivers side windshield is correct for North America.

I also believe some Canadian cars may not have air bags where the same models sold in the US would.......timing of federal legislation perhaps?
