Default Electric power steering

Has anyone converted or looked at converting their 928 to electric power steering?

Some nice stuff out there but the space is a problem?
No more oil leaks. Adjustable load. No oil container in the way.

Default Radiator options

Was is the experience with radiators more stroker or modified 928 engines?
Has the stock radiator been retained?

27 to 33 amps draw on an aged power system. Make the connections very good and make sure you have an uprated alt. The 928 is a power hog to start with, and adding elec power steering won't help matters.

I switched to electric power steering on my race car and loved it. I used the factory Porsche pump made by TRW

Hmmm, how well did it work with the AC running on high, lights, wipers, and radio at idle?

Oh - wait....

It will work well ,as you do not stay long at idle using the power steering , do you ? with the scenario you have portrayed.
The unit draws 8 amps when not required, ie in idle state waiting for steering input.

I'd love some details, pics if possible, because I've been scratching my head as to how to fit it?

If it uses an electrically driven hydraulic pump, isnt the OP barking up the wrong tree? Or did I misunderstand the mention of the ZF pump?

I thought I heard BMW had some issues with this type of steering ?

No, I'm not talking about hydraulic, or electric hydraulic, I'm talking about this type of thing
http://www.ultimatepowersteering.com...teering-epas-1
It's an electric motor that fits somewhere between the steering wheel and the rack. The rack has the hydraulic assist parts removed. It is connected to the CANBUS [which will be fitted] to apply vario-matic steering assist.
My Skoda Superb has electric PS and it's great.
Yes, on full load it can draw up to about 40 amps buts that's not often.

The pump Mark used in the race car simply replaces the belt driven unit. Todd recently installed the same unit in his twin turbo. He mounted the pump in the rear drives side fender cavity.

He made custom PS lines going to and from the rack. Easy peasy......

I found the pump for less than $100 US on euro eBay.

That's interesting. I didn't even think of electric-hydraulic.
But I'm looking for NO oil tank, pipes or hoses to leak, pure electric.
