Default Starter Harness routing help

Busy day,,

So here are so pix of my starter harness.
I am not sure where it is supposed to go through after it goes over top of the cross member..

Currently it is coming down behind the steering gear box then crossing to the back side of the cross member..

I know that I have it right when it goes over the cross member and where it eventually ends up in a clamp with the cable from the battery then to the starter.

Just not sure if it is supposed to go between the PS lines, over top of the steering gear box or what.
Pretty sure it isn't supposed to go just under the exhaust manifold.

In the long run I guess this minor routing question isn't a big deal as long as it doesn't chafe or rub on a moving component...

Getting there...Hoping to be ready for SITM.

Thanks

John,

Is this the TBF'd motor or did you "bite the bullet" and put a good motor back in. Either way it is surely looking good in there.

Apologies if I have missed something along your journey.

The routing looks right in the last picture, but on mine, the orange harness was below the tab and hung from there with a harness clamp, which your tab looks bent, should be parallel/flush with crossmember, there were also zip-ties (2) holding it firmly to the black harness. Both draped below the banjo fittings on the rack, as pictured, but not drawn tight to the steering rack.

Check how it runs alongside the engine so it's away from the exhaust and below the heat shield. Otherwise looks good with clamp added as described previously. I zip-tie both to the swaybar as well. Not sure that's stock but keeps them in place and from hanging down.

Glen I would suggest to remove the harness from the sway bar and keep the wires away from it .

Reason being the swaybar moves quite a bit when driving ,
it will wear through wire insulation with the right combination of oil and sand,
then you will have a sudden stoppage of electrons.
I have seen wires worn through more than a few times .

NOTE the wire harness will sit pretty firmly in place if you ziptie them together every 4 inches

Yup this is the TBF motor..In a big way..haha
I look at this as the dry run till I get the new motor this Christmas..It has been great practice.

Thanks all for the confirmations.
I will bend the tab down and clamp it up..
I will zip tie the two together and away from sway bar..

So, I imagine that I will be posting many questions and asking advice in the next few weeks. Please bear with me as it has been a journey. The best part is the interaction on these forums.

I use this link for one of my search tools,

https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q....com+inurl:928

but sometimes still like to hear the you all. I hope it isn't bothersome.

FYI
I found some exact fit, form, function pigtails for the injectors harness..at about $4.00 each omplete..

Also found the O rings for the bump stops at $10 for 10.

PM me if interested.

Thanks for this and all future replies..
