It only came with receipts since 2011, but it was 20w-50 all the way. The owner before that had all the service done at a Porsche dealership, so hopefully they put in the right stuff?

It seems as the wear increases on the lower bearing from front to rear, as if there were greater downward forces applied to the rear of the crank.
...as if the pitch of angle between the engine and transaxel were out of alignment.
Perhaps weakened transmission mounts sagging?
Or, just a case of too much weight on the rear end of the crank, as in more weight with a manual trans, as opposed to an auto.
And pre 2011, was it ever ran low on oil?
I doubt high revs alone would constitute such bearing wear.

Still haven't done anything with these. I was going to order just the the one-piece front bearing, but after taking a closer look when my blood pressure came back down, you can see wisps of copper on #5 as well. The other 3 look okay, though, and there is plenty of life in the thrust face of #3.

Sigh.

The bearing half uppers and lowers are superseded to the same part number. Buwah? Is there now a universal top and bottom bearing half?

I know I'll end up with all new bearings regardless. But still...
