Default Road & Track Magazine - April 1978

Look what I received today from one of the guys I play golf with.

He always sees me driving my 928's, and apparently while cleaning out his basement, he held on to this one for me.

Pretty cool. Browsing through it is like some kind of time warp. I haven't even had a chance to read it yet...

I have a copy of this one too I wonder if that VW Rabbit on page 97 was cheating emissions LOL. Probably wasn't getting the advertised 53MPG Hwy either.

Nice!

Everytime I read about something like this happening...I realize what loser (to quote the Donald) friends I have...lol.

Granted, they are probably typing the same statement on another blog somewhere else...

I had a '76 Honda Accord at that time. I recall being disappointed that the 928 engine did not have CVCC.

Nice friend you have there!

At that time I had a Mazda Rx-7 on order (my choice over a 280Z). Liked the 928 but it was way above my pay grade.

I will scan the article later this weekend, and try to post it here.

Yes. He's a great guy (long time 911 owner), and it was a really cool thing for him to do.

In April of 1978, I was in no position to be ordering ANY new car yet.

I was still in college at that time, driving my first car: a 1971 Opel 1900 Rally Coupe.
Here's a generic picture of the model. I bought mine for $350 and fixed it up really nice.
Man oh Man...!...the stories that car could tell....

I was going through the garage yesterday and came upon these.

I may have the same issue as the OP at nephew's house... I'll have a look next time I'm on the west coast.

^^^ You bet, Grant!

And Joe Rusz wrote about his experience with the car here:

And here's some more magazines, etc...
