How do you remove the seat back release **** and trim?
A PO really messed up the seat releases on my car when the seats were recovered. I have replaced ***** that were missing, but now I need to remove one and the trim (surround, bezel, whatever) behind it. Search was fruitless (all 500 entries under "seat"), and an all forum search didn't help. Anyone know how to do this?

Unless glued in the **** should just pull off. The roset for the seat belt (exit) is stapled/glued. The surround behind lever is also pushed in. This is what I found on mine.

Takes quite a bit of force to muscle off the ****, but the trim piece comes out easier ... just squeeze it in the middle to make the inside edges let go.
As far as reinstalling the ****, I've found it very hard to get it back on with the metal retainer clip still in place. Does putting a new clip on the lever and then pushing the **** down onto that work better?

Three Wheelin'
^^^^ what he said, but use a strong piece of cord looped behind it and when you pull you'll have more leverage. you will probably need new clips no matter what.
