Who has a SC kit collecting dust
#16
Why? I understand the theoretical reasons why turbo is better (at least, I think I understand them), but even some of the turbo advocates on this forum admit that the 928 responds exceptionally well to supercharging. For street use, what are the practical benefits of turbocharging over supercharging that justify what appears to be a lot of additional complexity?

There have been a few options that didn't pan out. Primarily one where the seller quickly realized how much fun they could be . Still hunting: I would open it up to turbo kits collecting dust as well. Trying not to discriminate....just want used boost...and I'm being cheap.

There was a kit that Kosmo Kramer sold to an RLer that the buyer ended up never installing. Do a search and maybe you can find the thread. It's a couple years old. Maybe the owner is willing to sell that kit.

Popo,
A couple of years ago I replaced my original Andy Keel SC with Fred Clark's Polished IC one. The original is sitting in storage right now collecting dust. I have thought often about selling it but I keep thinking I could.............get a divorce. So, I should probably sell it. It is not ICed but has lots of upgrades like machined aluminum injector cups and a custom 6 inch crank pulley. If you are interested pm me and I can give you all the details.

I have a very bare bones kit. It is the first one offered, I think. The FAST kit. It is just a bracket and pullies for supporting a Vortech blower. I also have an intercooler that goes with it, which is either a Murph or one of Carl's. Had the blower at one point, but sold it off and now doubt I will go further.

What stage? I'm running Stage I, but yet to see HP north of 350. Not trying to hijack the thread. How much boost were you getting out of the raptor?
EDIT: In fairness, I should add, I have not been able to build boost past 2.5PSI. I don't think it's due to the kit. I just completed intake refresh, but no luck on more boost. Compression and leakdown test soon. I might start another thread. Just wanted to add this as to not give bad info or thought about Carl's kit.
