Doc figured out that it was an alarm/central locking issue. He is rolling and headed out now.

Doc bypassed Hershey after his later than planned start and has made it to Athens, TN.

Only thing of note is that his cardboard and tape rear quarter window had a blow out at a speed greater than it was used to.

OK, John found it, the immobilizer was activated. The prev night I had to lock the doors from the inside, and close them, then to get in I had to crawl in the hatch. Which set the alarm. Sadly, the lamp in the alarm indicator, and the horn for the alarm have both been removed, so I was immobilized, but no audible or visual alarm, grrrrr.

So, I got it going, stopped at my sis house in Athens, TN then cleaned and fixed a few things on Sunday, and today I'm headed back for TX. Should be about 12 hours or a bit more, and I'll be safely back in the Republic. Car is running better all the time, however my back rear 'window'(cardboard and tape) blew off at about 90 while I was passing some trucks. No matter, offered a fine cool breeze for the ailing vent system to exit. Made it a bit more suitable.

I'm free all day if you need any help around Memphis. Best bbq in Memphis? Take Sam Cooper straight into Memphis at the I-40/240 split, exit Perkins North with an immediate left on Summer. Central BBQ is on Summer a block or so down on the left. To get back on 40 just turn left on Summer till it ends at the pyramid. Left turn and the ramp is on the right. Short detour for awesome food. Let me know and I'll bring ol blue to meet you for lunch : )

Home. Got in about 8 last night and the bearing was really squealing. Lot of seat time this weekend.

Glad you made it home safe. I'm not too surprised that the turbulence off of a semi took out your "window".
A lot of people don't realize how powerful the 'wake turbulence' (you know that term) is and get a rather nasty shock. U-haul trailers are the most common, the people aren't used to pulling a trailer.

Without...

Sorry sports fans, I can't host links on rennlist. I'm not qualified. I'll have to have them done by someone else now.

Just found out it has option 220 LSD and sport shocks on it. Bonus.

hmmm...isn't this the car Stien picked up for free that had rear quarter damage? His thread was there yesterday, which had links to pictures, but today the whole thread appears to be gone...
