Default Q Corrosion repair under rear window

Hi, I was wondering if anyone's had good luck repairing corrosion under the rear 3/4 window. I have an '89 S4 that I've had since '94 and it's really in beautiful shape. Unfortunately, I've got a couple 1mm bubbles forming along the rubber trim on my passenger side rear window. I know that this is a common area for corrosion. I'd like to get it fixed but I'm not sure whether the cure will be worse than the disease at this point. You can't really see it unless you are looking for it but it really bugs me.

Any tips from someone who's faced this problem. I live in Montgomery, Ala, so am looking for a good body shop if anyone has any recommendations in greater Atlanta area (or closer). Many thanks,

Steve

Unfortunately the only proper permanent fix is pulling the quarter window and rubbers, sandblasting the rust, priming and feathering in the paint. Any repair that you make by touching it up will only come back in a year or two.

I have the same. Ive squirted a little corrosion inhibitor (fluid film) under the seal to try slow it down a little.

This is no help at all, but be thankful you don't have an S3 spoiler on the back. Just an absolute mess under it, typically from trapped moisture.

My paint guy did a top-notch job with this repair on my GT. I pulled the rear quarter and reinstalled to save some labor $. Unable to see the blend line, which runs just aft of the rub strip. Maybe I'll be able to see it in 5-10 years when the natural fading begins to give the new paint away, but it looks great now.

He said he used some new product that worked so well, he surprised himself.

If you don't get a reference for a local shop, lemme know and I'll ask of he knows anyone down your way.
