Question Factory color name of this 88' S4?

I know, I know I remember hearing about bad experiences with this seller, But man, he gets some beautiful Sharks. I just wish I new what auctions he's attending.

Anyways, I love the color of his latest S4 for sale and was wondering if anyone owned one this color and had any pictures of it in the sunlight?

Also, what is the factory name for this color?

That is one beautiful 928.
It looks mint on the pictures.
Not sure about the color, but check here:

Does it seem a little odd that the trip odometer reads 0 in the picture? It doesn't seem like they'd bother to reset it in the showroom. Purhaps the last reset was at 35k miles while the car was moving...

Glad you like it. I think it's Diamondblau Metallic, same as mine. Bluish silver-gray that looks purple sometimes. Fantastic color.

PS the Carfax is clean but has only one mileage record from back in 1989.

My vote is "Granite green metallic". It's beautiful, but I would like it even better, if it had the matching greygreen interior.

My later car has a color combo not too far off of this:

It's Diamond Blue Metallic - same as my S4. I called it silver for a long time before I looked up the paint code. It does have sort of a rose or magenta aura under the right lighting.

jfrahm,
What was the mileage reading in 89?
If this guy is not rolling back odometers I'll eat my hat.

Hmmm, I think Slate Grey. I have seen mine look like this, at least when it is washed and under florescent lighting. Slate grey seems to have a dash of green in it when seen at the right angles, and under certain lighting. In daylight it looks grey. Here are two shots, same conditions, different angles. The last one is in evening. If I get a chance tommorrow I will se if I can get a daylight shot. FUnny how when a car looks really great you can think it looks like yours.

No facts to base it on, but my gut and opinion says this guy roles 'em back. Him and the guy in St Louis. After you watch enough 928s pop up on ebay by the same sellers over a period of time you see a trend.

When selling cars is your business and lively hood, you learn how to make the most money on the car your selling...some legal..some not.

My car is slate grey metallic, too, but that color was not available before '89 and is much darker and more brownish.

The only place where it looks blue is where the blue sky reflects. Otherwise it has more of a green/grey tone.

The car on ebay is "granite green metallic". Not a hint of doubt on my end.

Well, at any rate, it sure looks good and with 20+ bids and $16+ with 9 days to go it will be interesting to see what it goes for. I hope beauty is more than skin deep.
