Default Good pics of AC compressor mount.

This should not be throwing me for such a loop...but it is.

I cannot for the life of me find pictures or a diagram of my AC compressor mount for my '89 GT. I've looked at and looked at it and something seems to be missing.

I've also looked through a number of threads on here but can't find anything. I'm a little embarrassed to ask about something I think should be so simple. Anyone got any good pics of this?

I don't have anything on the 80-89 compressor mount, there are a couple of shots in John Pirtle's AC service write-up. I think he car is an '87.

Thanks Kevin. Mine looks the same. I should have been more clear. I'm looking for pics with the compressor mounted.

Mark I have a MY91 S4, and it just mounts with front and rear pivot bolts through the mounts in the photo above, through threads on compressor. The rear bolt on mine was tricky to line up with the compressor with the rear bolt (on recent mount change I discovered rear bolt was missing)

PET has pretty good exploded drawings of the mount and adjuster. The only error I'm aware of is the tensioner assembly on MY90 is like the one shown for MY89. The turnbuckle style tensioner shown for MY90 and up is vaporware as I understand it.

Thanks guys. I have the shop manuals on CD. Unfortunately that CD has suddenly gone missing so I can't look up the exploded views.

I have the bracket mounted just like in Kevin's picture. Do your hoses run between the compressor and sidewall or underneath the compressor? Either way it seems I am really pulling on the hoses to get bolt holes to line up. When things don't just fit together it usually means I need to take a better look at it and ask some questions.

Thanks for the help.

Here you go. This shows the Nippondenso 6E171 compressor. In 1990 they switched to a Nippondenso 10PA20C and they added a bracket on the compressor to accommodate the lack of mounting ears on the new compressor.

The later models have a funky 'console' bracket.

Thanks for the diagram. I'll dig back in in the next couple of days.
