Jeez, this one has my interest too! I'll fly in and buy it, drive it home. Alex - you are a quick draw. And BTW, if your tax refund is that big, we need to talk at Hershey - you need to adjust your withholding - you get no extra points letting the gubmint hold your money interest free!

Well, the owner got back to me, apparently had promised right of first refusal years ago to another rennlister. I made an educated guess and now I know who that person is and he is likely refusing the car at this time, so hopefully it will be mine...I sure hope so as this would be a perfect sunny day driver..it's getting tougher to buy cars with all these new collectors out there...since when were you in the market, Ed?

...Rear hatch does not open with key, but does by using the switch by the driver’s seat...
Interesting. That's pretty much opposite of what most owners deal with.

Usually the remote switch will cease functioning way before the key...

I sometimes miss my old 84. I've always thought it was a good model year.

That's a beautiful car at a VERY fair price. GLwtS.

I have seen this car in person and it is amazing. This is a very very nice unmolested car.

Dave used to drive it through my neighborhood (just to tease me, I think) I would see it and put on an all out chase to catch up and find out who was driving it.(It was always Dave)

Dave, I'm sorry you are selling it. I'm gonna miss looking up and seeing the car go past the house.

I do agree that you have the car priced much too cheap due to the recent spike in interest of 928s and the resultant price increases. GLWS

With respect to my price being too low.... I never considered maximizing my financial position. I bought it from a friend at a fair price and will be selling to a friend at a fair price. Otherwise I would be wading through the unwashed masses on Craigslist trying to milk every penny from some poor schmuck. My primary desire is to allow the next curator of this beautiful car to bring it up to its potential and to cherish it like I have. To accomplish my goals, I have to sell it to someone who loves and appreciates 928's and is willing to commit themselves to its preservation. The Jack Russell terrier in my avatar was rescued and brought us joy for almost 18 years. I want that for the next steward of my 928. By next Monday, I will decide who that will be.
Thanks for appreciation you have shown.

Awesome car, awesome philosophy and even more awesome dog!..We love our rescue dog as well. He was supposed to be a chihuahua - hence the name 'Disco' (Spanish for Hockey puck - all the kids play travel)...came out of a high-kill shelter in Kentucky - had a tough time - had everything you could get - kennel cough, mites, parasites...don't know what he's mixed with but he's 35 pounds so we now call him the "chi wannabe". He has a 'Jack Russel / black lab/ pit' vibe to him. Nothing like a rescue pet to rescue the soul....

Rough to get a good pic of a jet black dog BTW....

That is an absolutely wonderful approach to "transferring" a car Dave.
But why are you even selling it? I think my heirs will have to liquidate mine...

We absolutely love Jack Russell terriers (in fact, we love ALL terriers).
Two years ago, my son brought home an American Staffordshire Terrier puppy.
He's an incredibly gorgeous animal with the most velvety silver blue coloring.
If you can imagine, he's basically just a drastically enlarged version of your Jack Russell.
All the exact same terrier intelligence, strength, and tenacity, but in a 75 lb package..!
The picture below is my son changing the starter on the 88, and he crawled under there to help.
Wherever you are, and whatever you're doing, that is exactly where he wants to be.
He's quite possibly the sweetest dog we've ever owned (and we've had many).

Dave,
I think you picked a really good caretaker for your/his car.

Still sorry to see you go.

Dave,

you are indeed a standup guy. It will be my pleasure to care for the car as you have. (I may even give Disco a ride in it, as long he doesn't drool on the leather). Thanks again. (I ran out of room on the sig page - had to shorten things up a bit..).

I'm jacked up for this car!

Alex
