Question 928 S4 rear emblems : Your opinions???

Hello all,

My 928 is almost out of the paint shop, and I must decide which colors I should have the emblems on the rear bumper cover.

The emblems are all raised factory Porsche, however from different cars (928/911/Boxster) so they are different colors. I was just going to have them painted black like the GTS emblem, but have since decided to go with different colors.

It is a GTS rear cover so the emblems will go in the center just above the GTS rear reflector (just like the GTS). My car is Venice blue metallic, so that is why the background is blue.

I am partial to #9 and #11.

Any thoughts?????

WOW..all nice!

i think 8? Subtle, like the original but updated.

then 12..then 5 i guess. My 3

How about making an 928 Sc4 (supercharged)

My creation..For the day a Murphy SC kits gets bolted up on my car....my version of the "M"

lWould look ok on the tail or on each front fender where the euro side marker lights usually go.

Yup, those are Packer colors

8 or 12. but i think it would look better with the GTS "S" so all the letters are the same size and style, not the swoopy S...

And I vote for all red, but my car is black with no underlying insignias.

I really don't like the looks of the newer type (GTS) script on anything else then a GTS.......actually looks too 911ish to me........I like the older block style script for the S4/GT cars.......IMHO.

Just one opinion, but I like having no model or decals at all. Just the embossed "Porsche."

I guess I'm the lone wolf here. I like the silver and/or red, and I love the "S" from the Boxster.

Glen, the GTS rear cover has no embossed "Porsche", but has it in the reflector. It is not easy to see and IMHO leaves the cars *** to clean.

David Hendrickson, funny you mention that. I never did try the "S" from the "GTS" part of the emblem, and have sold it on ebay!

I agree with some of the others here....nix the swoopy "S" and either keep it similar to the GTS decals or delete the rear decals altogether. I prefer the NO decal lookmyself and have been wondering how to remove my 928s4 factory decals without damaging the paint. Back in the 80s, the euro "sleeper" cars often were debadged, particularly in Europe itself, to keep folks guessing. Nice that the decals were a delete option for our 928s too.
Cheers,
Tim

Tim,
Careful, and judicios use of a heat gun set on low or a hair dryer will soften the decal for easy removal. Doesn't take much heat at all. Worked for me!

On your Venice blue metallic paint I'd like the silver inlaid PORSCHE decal, without any of the 928 and S badging.

Understated elegance.

I made smaller decals, and used the blockish porsche font,
instead of the "scriptey" font...
