Watercooler,
That looks very nice. You have said that "the paint has dried...". If I may ask, what did you have done and how much was the total ? You're car is beautiful.

Watercooler,
I have to admit I was a bit skeptical about the swoosh "S" on a 928 but seeing it in the final stage makes me reconsider. The raised letters look great and the colors are perfect. The gray works. Subtle yet with just the right amount of contrast to be noticed. It is probably what Porsche would put on the car today. You should be very happy with the outcome.
Let's see some full body shots of the paint job!!

Thanks for all the kind words guys.
I'm not sure what the etiquette is here on posting a large amount of pics. I have almost 200 pics of the car from when I purchased it for less than the price of a nice set of wheels, to it stripped down to bare metal and aluminum, to now (95% complete).
It took 10 months, and a bunch of cash, but I am very happy.
I enjoy looking at other peoples 928 sites. I might try to get my old web page back up to display the whole project and some interesting mods that I have done.
Here are 2 pics of the car as it is now.

Just gorgeous. I really like the euro-style cover between the fog/driving lights and the front turn signals. I have a front plate almost identical to that on my car. One last item, am I mistaken or did you replace the stock windshield trim with the later style ?

I really do like the emblem and the color combination on your car. Nice job!
How is it attached and what are the sizes of the letters? How might I get one unpainted?
Then I can struggle with what color to paint it? I have always thought mine looked better naked but maybe not I am still a novice with Jasc Paint so this is the best I can do.

Thanks Rob,
That clear plastic end cap is ordered from the dealer for euro model 928S4. You have to remove the US 5 mph bumper reinforcement plate to put it on. Unfortunately the front cover must be off the car to do this. I think I have the older style front window trim. I have not researched this as of yet.
Jerry, as I wrote in the begging of this thread, the "928" is from the stock "928 GTS" emblem set. The "S" is from the boxster, and the "4" is from the 996 ? 4. These are all available from your dealer, and a great excuse to brows the show room floor.
All labels are self-adhesive, and must be re-painted to your liking as they are all different colors. Make sure they are well sanded for the new paint to adhere to them.
I personally think that black with guards red would look great on your GT.
I'm off to sit in the sun, drink some beer, and dive with the fishies for a week. Have a good week all!

I'm a sick man, but why couldn't you have used Tony's avatar on the rear end? Seriously, it looks good in the end, pun intended. The trouble with paint, rims and shoes is you never really know til you put it on.

Watercooler,
Kudos! Your paint job and your custom 928s4 decal look wonderful...nice work! I even like the look of the Jacquemond rear wing...and personally, I'm a "stock look" kinda guy.
Now, how about some photos of the rest of the car and that NEW interior to boot?
Best,
TUK

Watercooler,
Love your car but I don’t like the decal much. With that being said, I want to red decal the PORSCHE on the rear of my black 89 S4 as well as paint the calipers red, but I know I won't. I have a buddy that would give me hell for it and a side of me knows it’s all show and not what the factory intended. There’s something I like about an all black car with red accents though. I also intend on changing my interior from tan to red. There are those days I want to be tacky, but there's nothing that says class like no emblems in the back. For example the 1990 and up Audi V8 Quattro 4 door sedan. No emblems, all class. If you don't know the car you're looking at, well too bad for you. Plus, no emblems in the back produces less clutter, giving the car an even wider look from the rear. Not that the 928 needs to look any wider but still. I really do like these decal threads. While we all (or most) agree on such changes like the RMB it's good to see we all have different tastes. Especially on a model that didn't go through too many changes when you consider how long they were produced for.

Watercooler. thanks for the emblem Idea.
I decided to let Paul from Malta make me a set. Remember all the issues with shipping, well I received them very quickly. He also sent me two, one in red and one in black, Thanks!

Watercooler,
Put the decals back on if the option code called for it, if not leave them off, but I am very much a stock kind of guy. Hopefully, it didn't call for one......looks cleaner and classier. The way I figure it is that, Porsche engineers are paid very large salaries to design the whole car, so why put unstock items on it. The 928 is as we all know the only real Porsche, so therefore don't put an inferior 911 like emblem on it! I hope the paintwork turns out O.K. Good luck!
