If someone brings it to you or meets you in a neutral public place......they OFTEN do not want you to know where they LIVE and the phone number used can be from the Burner App.
Burner is for throw away phone numbers on your current phone.....used for dating, cheating, selling stuff on Craigslist so no one sees what you are doing or has any way to reach you.....Baring police intervention it is untraceable. Number evaporates in two weeks or if you kill it.....get as many as you wish for about $2 each. Works for phone, texts.....

Many car flippers here in California are selling cars which will never smog so never can get registered. Title is always in an "Uncles" name so these jerks rip off people who need inexpensive transportation and have no real way to ever find them ..... they end up with a car they can not drive or afford to fix. Some victims post warnings on Craigslist and give the guys cell # but those numbers and names keep changing

Some people will offer to meet in a neutral place for legit reasons, at least for the first meeting. After all, the buyer is a stranger too. They may have had a bad experience, or have a nice house, have nice things and want to maintain privacy or security.

I sincerely hope you have done your home work on these wheels but something here feels suspicious as Uncle Jim wisely pontificates.
No 944 that I am aware of was kitted by Porsche with Cup 1 wheels [17 inch] and thus likely they were after market add ons possibly with completely wrong offsets. Out of interest I just did a random check on e-bay and found a set offered that have ET23 on the fronts and ET15 on the rear. If yours are anything like these then you are going to have a bad day.
Again, I do hope my concerns are unfounded and let's hope they originally came from a GTS or maybe a 968 [I think they came with Cup 1's] but if you did not check the offsets....? Anything less than ET50 on the front will not fit I suspect yet alone work correctly [ET65 needed].
Fingers crossed for you

Time for some positive vibes......
If they came from an 87 or newer 944 you should be fine.
I've had these wheels since about 97, they fit an 87+ 944 any version of 928:

Porsche changed the suspension design of the 944 in 1987, the earlier variants had a front offset of 23mm the later variants had a front offset of some 52mm. Thus wheels that were used on the later 944 variant should be OK. Whether or not the factory actually supplied Cup 1's on later versions of new 944's I do not know.
If the wheels are genuine Porsche the first three digits of the part number will be "965". This is what is stamped on GTS rims if I remember correctly. Some time ago I made inquiries as to whether there was such a thing as a Porsche 965. Apparently there was a project 965 but there was a lot of debate as to whether a Porsche 965 ever existed- to my amazement my inquiries suggested that in fact there was - not that many existed [extremely rare apparently].

I think those only came on the 968.
Either way, a great looking wheel.
What year 928 do you have?

Mark,
Those wheels are referred to as the "Cup narrow spoke design" as I am aware- as I am concerned they were the best looking 16 inch fitment Porsche offered. You will be a bit limited on tyre selection assuming you run stock S4 tyre sizes [225x50 & 245x45] but they will fit mechanically.
Cup 1's are a 17 inch design and first appeared on the 964 series [I think] and as stock on the first GTS model albeit with 65mm front offset.
Do post some pics as and when fitted.
