Default 8" H4 Headlight questions/parts/mirrored surface replacement

So I know the side anchors that secure H4's to the housing are no longer available, (but remade again in small batch: https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...available.html) but I'm wondering are any OTHER H4 parts available, mainly the white nylon clips riveted to the bottom of the H4 lamps that the adjuster ball fits into - I have some H4 headlamps with these in place but with broken tabs, so the ball won't be secured. Just curious if anyone know if/where these could be sourced.

the white clips on the right side of the pic on each lamp is what I'm referencing...the ones in the pic are NOT mine - mine are broken!

Also wondering if anyone has tried to "re-mirror" the reflective surface, or even remove the Bosch glass lenses from the mirrored portion and re-glue to a new replacement aftermarket mirror. Some of my H4 units have the reflective surface flaking off/ rough surface and I'm curious if there is any solution out there.

Lastly, when installing H4's in a US converted car, does anyone know a source or part number of a "pigtail" that would plug into harness without cutting into the harness converting the US bulb fitting to the H4 fitting? (I would rather not cut into my harness to put the H4 plugs on my current harness.) I was told Pelican has them but I need a part number as they can't seem find them in their system without a part number...

So those frames are all the same whatever lens it had? The PET I have (7.1) shows the pic but doesn't have the P/N in the list.

I'd be concerned about breaking the crispy clip on the replacement.

Looks like a good part for 3D printing.

Jim are you saying the H4 lens would fit in that socket or that the nylon piece can be "salvaged" from the carrier referenced above. Does it also come with the correct H4 anchors as well?

The 8" H4 is a different assembly, that carrier is for the 7" sealed-beam DOT lights. I am sure that Jim is suggesting salvaging the socket. But $50 for a little piece of plastic is gonna hurt...

That carrier won't have the hinges (anchors), those are only found on the Euro 8" H4s. As originally designed the socket attached to an actuator rod connected to a small piston (early) or an electric motor (later) that allowed the lights to be adjusted up and down, depending on how much weight you had piled in the back or your desire to aim the low-beams farther down the road on dark nights (and/or to annoy oncoming drivers). Very cool, but veto'ed for the US market by the humorless Feds. Roger can supply the bits for the conversion if you are so inclined.

Roger was also working on a replacement Euro H4 lens, polycarbonate if I recall correctly, which implies that the glass lens be detached. Which of course would allow refurbishment of the reflector, but the only sources I found were shops catering to the antique car market and who wanted a lot of money. With new H4's available from Porsche for $270 it didn't seem worth the hassle.

If it is any help I have a used Euro H4 assembly which turned out to be corroded with a junk reflector. It does have good hinges and a usable socket (all four fingers but one has a chip out of it) for $50. I can send a pic tomorrow if interested, send me a PM.

Cheers, Jim
