Oil leaks can be difficult to track down, so fix the ones you know of and go from there. That trace of oil could have migrated down from the cam cover leakage or the oil pan gasket...being blown back as you drive.
If that oil is not from either of those two places, it could be the rear main seal. But doing the other two jobs first doesn't hamper or change the process, since you don't encounter anything to do with the seal...so doing the seal later is not an issue.
Oops...just noticed you might be pulling the engine...in that case...do the rear main.
Brian.

Take that little cover off next to the starter and look up into the bell-housing with a flashlight and see what you find. Judging by the lack of oil on those bolts holdingthe cover on...doesn't look suspect to me.

The oil on the lower bell housing can be running down from the rear cam caps, or running back from a weeping oil pan gasket.
I personally do not use a seal and instead seal the oil pan directly to the block with hondabond. I do the same with the rear cam caps as well. If you do this with the rear caps smooth them out with sandpaper and a sheet of glass first.

Finally have the pan off..
Looking at the internals, what should I clean and what shouldn't I clean? I obviously don't want to leave any grim freed up where it could clog the oil passages.

Also on the oil pick up, the "filter" around it. Is it normal for it to be slightly warped I know it's a thin sheet metal/ tin type filter but it warped slightly pulling the pick up off, I wasn't sure at first how it was supposed to come off but nothing was done forcefully.

Everything went back together successfully. Much easier job once everything was cleaned up wish I power washed the underside ahead of time.
Still have a leak from the oil plenum which I'll be replacing soon. Haven't been driving it yet as I was waiting on new rotors and I want to address the rear axle boots and a missing stud on one of the hubs. But I ran motor a few times and after about a month no leaks from the oil pan or rear main seal.

So the things I ended up replacing were the cam cover gaskets, oil pan gasket, plenum hose, and the the rear main.
Went out for a 30mile ride and everything looks ok.
