Looks familiar? let me know if you can tell me anything about it.

The latest owner removed the S4 wing and the white chin spoiler , but keep a non standard black chin spoiler on there.
I am not sure if the door iserts are Rob or Paul Champagnes(sp?)

Regarding the water leak I would recommend pressuretesting your system. These pumps are well worth the money, or you could perhaps borrow one from someone. I had a leak, took me a couple of minutes to locate. I did not need to put much pressure on the system before it started dripping on the floor, on mine the waterbridge was the sinner. The gasket between the waterbridge and the head, had a Porsche shop change them. But at least I could specify what to change.

Thanks for the heads up. I will see if I can get a pressure tester

I am going to pickup up the car in a hour. I am anxious to see the records. Evidently the clutch and power steering rack were done only a few thousand miles ago! Hooray!

The car looks great. Nice to see it going to someone on the forum.

Find it interesting that there are no lights in the door panel. Wonder if they were removed or never there?

OK, so the car is home and I drove it around the block. I found a lot of surprises and believe it or not, almost all them are good. ....i know right?

THE GOOD:

1. Odometer does work!, and looking at records and the condition of a few things I think it might be actual mileage!
2. Documents show steering rack replaced with a rebuilt ZF 3,500 miles ago.
3. Brakes and pads are nearly new.
4. Guages had the LED upgrade (?) already done, and all seem to work sans the low fuel warning ..maybe see "THE BAD" below
5. All lights work, turn signals cancel.
6. Documents show clutch being replaced, and it feels great. steering rack (rebuilt ZF) 3,500 miles ago.
7. Twin electric fans not sure of brand (See Picture).
8. Original radio works.
9. Parking brake is tight
10. Stick shift is firm and not sloppy. Documents show shifter cup,.. or something like that replaced.
11. She cleaned up nicely.
12. Steel locking gas cap is kinda cool.
13. Tires have plenty of tread.
14. Headlights are H4's
15. Hood badge is new.
16. I can't believe I actually own one of these now!

THE BAD: ??

1. Coolant was very low and only seemed to be water. filled it with only water again and got the "Low coolant" light to go off, but the temperature continued to rise. Perhaps a bubble in the system?... I am not sure where the bleeder valve is and will look in the A.M.
2. Fuel lines should be done
3. Some sort hissing sound from the vents above the heater/ac control. it gradually hisses it's self to silence after shutting the car off. takes about 10-15 to go away. I imagine I have a vacuum leak under there.?
4. Buzzing from the fuse panel for the first few seconds after starting the car.
5. Gas gauge reads empty, which it may be, but there is no low fuel light?
6. I can't believe I actually own one of these now.

any help is appreciated!

some pics so this thread is not worthless.

Congrats! I am assuming you have checked your oil for water contamination?

Would be interesting to see the electric fan upgrade.

Also, coolant flush and change should be job #1 while awaiting the fuel lines.

Great find!

There is no bleeder valve on a 928. They self bleed by design.

Does Maryland have front license plates? If not, pop that ugly front bracket off.

We don't in Georgia, so that's the first thing I do whenever we get another car.

The front end always looks so much cleaner without it...
